I now work with three pupils at the high school; two year 7 boys, and one in year 8.
One of the boys (aged 12) has ASD, ADHD and Tourette's. He's hilarious and, as I've recently discovered, a brilliant poet. Today he printed off some of his work for me to read; some are funny nonsense, some are poignant and some scream 'existential crisis!' Here's a few I wanted to share:
A selection from the collection entitled 'Short Poems'.
Nothing Can Exist
But it's only nothing...
It's only one big happy
Circle of space... alone.
A Special Time In The Day
I've had a special time
One of which is when
I feel alive!
A Sad Moment
Sad moments are sad
Especially for a lad
But I'm never sad.
Don't You Just Hate It?!
We all hate something...
Like, Justin Bieber
And one jealous person!
My Heart
It's not everyday
I think of my heart!
Thank God, without it
We wouldn't have life today!
A Very Bad Lie
It has to be fake... WHY?!
Oh, my wish didn't come!
BECAUSE IT'S A LIE!
A Handsome Life
One man is handsome
How hard can it be?!
I'd like to see...
Singing
I sing in class
It's very catchy
And definitely fun to do!
Santa Clause
A guy with a long beard
Also it's white, and a red suit.
This guy will be easy to find.
Worst Lessons
Welsh is a pain
And German/Science is the same
School; these lessons are insane!
From the collection of 'Big Poems'.
The Pen
The poor pen,
Its ink, commonly known as its blood,
Is being used on paper.
We must stop the villains using the pen!
How would we like it? The poor pen can't stand it!
The pen has suggested we use pencils,
One suggestion that has been successful...
Isn't he a gem? He makes me laugh daily. Will add more as and when! x
